Reminder: TURN OFF JS8 HEARTBEAT IN THE MORNING
14 Jan 2021 by John Jacob Schmidt
If you are new to AmRRON and Amateur Radio digital modes, you MUST remember to turn off beaconing and heartbeat features on 40 meters (7.110 MHz) until 8 AM, Central Time.
There is a long-established national CW (Morse Code) net which has been on the air for decades, long before AmRRON.
The net takes place between 7am and 8am Central Time each morning.
Stations who are ‘Heartbeating’ (Beaconing) in the JS8Call mode during that time are stepping on the CW nets.
Interfering with other stations is not only illegal, it is extremely discourteous, and is not how Amateur Radio operators treat their neighbors on the air.
Set your alarm if you must.
Thank you!
